Although arriving in Yukon in June 2016, Greg is a native Oklahoman. As a Methodist preacher's kid, he has lived all over the state. While his family roots are in Northwest Oklahoma, he has lived in Southeastern Oklahoma nearly half his life. He graduated from Eufaula High School, where he first met his wife Hadley, but their relationship wouldn't start for another decade. Hadley teaches kindergarten at Central Elementary in Yukon. They have two children, Spencer who is a student at OU and Bridget who is a student at Austin College.
Greg is passionate about helping people grow in faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. He was a youth minister for nine years before beginning his preaching ministry, serving as Senior Minister in Snyder, Heavener, Durant, and Duncan before coming to Yukon. He has ministry related degrees from Oklahoma City University (Bachelor's), Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University (Master's), and Drew Theological School (Doctorate). He has also authored four books related to preaching.
Greg's hobbies include being an armchair quarterback for the OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys, where his unsolicited advice is graciously ignored. He also follows basketball with the Sooners and the OKC Thunder.
James is a native of eastern Oklahoma. He spent his first 10 years in Talihina and graduated from Henryetta High School. He met his wife Hilary while attending OSU in Stillwater, where he earned a degree in American History.
James traces his Methodist heritage back to his great great grandfather who served as a “circuit rider” in Indian Territory. James got his MDiv from Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas. He has served five different churches in North Texas and Oklahoma.
James and Hilary have two young children, so his hobbies include drawing with crayons, singing the wrong words to pop songs and circling the living room at 2am. Sometimes he still gets to play his guitars. Their family spends as much time as possible outdoors – distance running, camping, playing in the park or doing sidewalk chalk.
He uses facebook like a pastor, twitter like a person, and instagram like a dad. You’re welcome to follow.
Barbara taught kindergarten for 27 years in Bethany Public Schools. Her B.S. in education and M.Ed. early childhood are from UCO.
She has been a member of Yukon FUMC since 1979. Her daughter grew up attending this church and now her grandchildren are attending.
Barbara’s years of helping with VBS, teaching Sunday school and working with various committees have helped prepare her for her
retirement fun of leading the children’s ministries of this church. She is excited to watch the children grow and mature from the nursery to
adulthood, and to see the changes in the growth of this church.
Barbara is married to Tom, now has 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. She loves reading, gardening, and traveling.
