Rebecca moved to the Yukon community in 2015 but has been a Canadian County resident most of her life. She graduated from El Reno High School and taught elementary school in that city for several years. She married a native El Reno-ite, Charlie Mclaughlin, who is now a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. They have two children, three grandchildren and a spoiled dog named Toby.

A lifelong Methodist, Rebecca has served as Sunday School teacher, trainer, and VBS teacher and coordinator in previous churches. She has a B.S. in elementary education and special education from SWOSU in Weatherford, a M.S. specializing in reading instruction from SWOSU, and a M.S. in gifted and talented education from OCU. She has worked in the education field in many capacities, including district curriculum coordinator and the state director of gifted education and AP.

Rebecca has adopted the life principle found in Micah 6:8: “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Her hobbies are reading, traveling, gardening, swimming, furniture restoration, sewing, knitting, and doting on her grandchildren. She is an annoying fan of OSU (not that one – Ohio State!) during football season.
